Two more Connecticut towns, Canton and Ledyard, have started electronically recording documents through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, providing a faster, more cost-effective recording option for customers.
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers ranging from title companies to banks, attorneys, and lien filers, have the ability to scan or upload and submit documents directly to the town clerk’s office and have them recorded, stamped, and returned electronically.
“Instead of having to rely on the mail or get in the car and drive to the clerk’s office, customers can save a significant amount of time and money by e-recording in minutes,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.
Customers also have the ability to track and view the status of their documents that have been submitted through Simplifile, making it easier and more cost effective to correct and resubmit any rejected documents.
There are now 35 e-recording towns in Connecticut, in addition to more than 1,275 other recording jurisdictions that also e-record with Simplifile nationwide.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
