On March 23, 2017, the Texas House of Representatives adopted HR 900, a resolution in memory of Walter Joseph Carson III of Ballinger. Walter was a life-long abstractor with Surety Title.
It reads:
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Walter Joseph Carson III of Ballinger on January 24, 2016, at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, The son of Walter and Mary Carson, Walter Joseph Carson III was born on September 3, 1940, in Port Arthur; following his high school graduation, he joined the United States Army, and in 1974 he embarked on a long and rewarding career as an abstractor for Surety Title Company; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Carson enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Carlene, to whom he was married in 2008; he also took great pride in his children, Lisa Yates, Walter Joseph "Joey" Carson, Sherry Calcote, and Teri Vogler, as well as in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan volunteered his time with the Ballinger Rotary Club and the Runnels County Sheriff's Office Reserve, and he was known by family and friends for his infectiously optimistic attitude; and
WHEREAS, Although he is deeply missed, Walter Carson leaves behind a legacy that will forever be treasured by all those who were privileged to share in the richness of his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Walter Joseph Carson III and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his loss; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Walter Carson.
