David H. Stevens, CMB, President and CEO of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), made the following statement about President Trump nominating Brian Montgomery to be the next Federal Housing Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

"MBA applauds the nomination of Brian Montgomery to lead the Federal Housing Administration. His previous experience will serve him well in this position. I hope the Senate will move quickly to confirm Brian and we look forward to working with him, Secretary Carson, and others in the Administration to ensure a strong, robust FHA program that can serve its mission of providing affordable housing opportunities, both rental and owned, for all Americans, especially those with low and moderate incomes and first-time homebuyers."
