Simplifile Begins E-recording with Collier County, Fla.
press release, Simplifile

Simplifile, a leading provider of real estate document collaboration and recording technologies for lenders, settlement agents, and counties, announced that it has begun e-recording with Collier County, Fla.

“Collier Recording Department is pleased to add Simplifile to our e-recording accounts. We believe their addition will considerably increase our e-recording numbers, resulting in greater efficiency to recording clients as well as the clerk,” said Collier County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Dwight E. Brock.

Collier County joins 52 other Florida counties that also offer e-recording through Simplifile. Local title company Cottrell Title & Escrow was the first to e-record in Collier County using Simplifile’s service.

“For years, the Cottrell Closing Experience has utilized Simplifile’s e-recording platform while conducting transactions in almost every county in the state of Florida. We are thrilled to be able to offer this service to clients in our hometown county of Collier,” said Managing Partner of Cottrell Title & Escrow James P. Schlimmer.

“Through Simplifile’s integration with ResWare™, we are one step closer to redefining the closing experience for clients in Southwest Florida,” Schlimmer added. “This integration has made the e-recording process fully automated inside our organization. Clients are amazed that they can receive their recorded documents and executed title policies back in only a couple of hours. We love hearing our clients say that they expected this part of the process to take a month or more.”

Through e-recording, the clerk’s office is able to electronically receive, stamp, record, and return documents, thus reducing documentation and processing errors. The Simplifile system also eliminates check-writing expenses by allowing settlement agents to submit recording fees and other recording-related expenses directly through an integrated electronic payment system.

Nationwide, more than 1,771 counties e-record with Simplifile, making it the largest e-recording network in the U.S.
