Source of Title's Bulletin Service
Source of Title Blog
February 02 2009

Communication is the cornerstone to any good business relationship.  That is why we decided to launch a new, FREE service on Source of Title - to help you keep your clients informed with important announcements regarding your company, your services, and the counties you cover.  Through our Bulletin service, you can post timely announcements and your clients can subscribe to them.  This allows your clients to subscribe and aggregate their vendors' bulletins on one easy to access Web page and keep informed.  Best of all - its completely FREE!  It is a great benefit you can offer your clients and it won't cost you, or them, a dime.

How it works:

Its easy!  If you have a company listed in our directory, just log in with the email address you used when you registered the company.  You will then have a link available under the "Bulletins" heading in the left column - "My Bulletins."  Clicking on the "My Bulletins" link will take you to a page where you can enter your announcement and see all of your previous bulletins.

Once you enter a bulletin, it will appear on your directory listing when people view it in the directory.  And, if your clients subscribe to your bulletins, they will see them on their "Bulletins" page.

Here is an example of the types of announcements that will be particularly useful:

Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 - Richburg, Morton, and Crawfish Counties are closing at noon on New Year's Ever.

Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 - Richburg County tax computers are down for maintenance until Jan. 5.

Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 - Our office will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Thursday, Jan. 1,  2009 - Frankenborrough County Clerk of Courts computer is still misindexing names on State liens. A commission is reviewing the problem; we will notify you when the problem has been resolved.

Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 - Our office is moving to 123 Main Street, Capital, XY 10101.  Phone, fax and email addresses will remain the same.*

Friday, Jan 2, 2009 - We are adding Gorgonzola County to our service area effective immediately with the addition of Jim Smith, our new abstractor with 15 years of experience.*

Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 - Due to sever snow storm, we are unable to make it to Maroon County today.  Orders will be completed tomorrow as soon as possible.

*NOTE: Of course, if your bulletin is to announce a change in your address, contact information, or the counties you cover - don't forget to update your directory listing, too!

Once you feel comfortable using the new service... you need to let your clients know that they can subscribe to them.  Click here for a customized letter you can send to your clients explaining the new service to them, and instructions for subscribing to your bulletins.

We have made it very easy for your clients to subscribe to your bulletins.  First, they can visit the "Bulletins" page and enter your SOT I.D. number in the "Subscribe to a company's bulletins by SOT ID:" box.  Second, they can click the "plus sign" in the directory next to your listing.

When companies have subscribed to their vendors' bulletins, they are all viewable on the "Bulletins" page.  They will be able to see new posts by you and their other vendors as they are added.

This will improve communications between clients and their vendors.  All you have to do is remember to add important announcements to your "My Bulletins" page as necessary.  Anytime you have a unique situation, like a county closing or changing their policies or procedures, when tax due-dates are announced, etc., you just have to create a new bulletin.

In fact, this would probably be a good time to create your first bulletin - county taxes should be due soon - let your clients know when they are due in your county.  For example:

Richland County taxes are due February 25, 2009.

What is to come:

We will be making further enhancements to this service over the coming months, as we think they will be useful.  For example, we may add an email notification service that clients can subscribe to that will send them a couple of emails each day to alert them of new bulletins.  Our goal is to provide our users with pertinent, timely information.

Of course, the information must come from you.  The more you take advantage of this FREE service, the more useful it will be to your clients.  And, it is an excellent service you can offer your clients that won't cost you, or them, any money.  This is a great way to stand out over your competition - by providing superior communications to make doing business with you easier for your clients.

I encourage all of you to take advantage of the Bulletin service.  If you have any questions or comments regarding this new service, please post them here and check back for a reply.
