We were in small claims in NY and we don't understand either.  At one point we won a judgment and his lawyer literally had it removed and scheduled a court date ... our guess is he knew someone, happens a lot in NY.

In the end it was our fault because we just gave up.  My business partner's daughter was batteling cancer and we missed a court date - we decided to let it go.  The amount of time and money spent was becoming absurd considering the amount we were trying to go after.

In hindsight we probably should have found a way to stick it out and make an example of this guy.  From all the press I have read on the interenet folks seem to think quite highly of Mr. Cooper and we are left with no hard evidence to contradict that opinion.

... so it goes.
