Amwell Township is in Washington County , the county in which I live and work. I have searched titles here for 28 years.

We are in the midst of a Marcellus Shale boom, and believe me it is big business and an even bigger source of controversy. Range Resources and other large oil and gas companies make substantial financial contributions to local businesses, communities and political campaigns.

The debate about whether to lease or not to lease is a daily topic in every newspaper and tv news show.

One side effect not mentioned is that our courthouses are now overrun with inexperienced oil and gas abstractors. There are lines to use courthouse computers and  counter space in the records offices is at a premium. Being an abstractor seems to be the new thing to do.
