ALTA Researching Proposals for Federal Mortgage Recordation System
The American Land Title Association is working through the language in legislation introduced by Tennessee Senator Bob Corker last week, which included a provision that would replace the privately owned MERS mortgage registry with "MERS 2", a federal mortgage recording system under the control of the FHFA.
