[-] Info you just can't get from off shore or on-line searching! - Jay Duncan/MO (3 replies)

Was doing a 50 year search in a very rural county of Missouri.  Already had it back several deeds when the previous owners bought it from The Citizens Bank of Edina.  Since I am already back in the books this is going to be fun.  The books are only listed as grantor's and grantees (no legals listed with the indexes) and there is no information on the deed referencing a possible foreclosure.  I had already had gotten all the information from the property record card in the assessor's office.  The only thing left to do was to review each deed that the bank had been listed as the grantee to see when they got the property...ugh.  Was going to have to go through the index book (again no legal descriptions given) and pull each deed...ugh...this was going to take days.

Alas, the recorder knew about this property, knew it had a log cabin on it at one time, that it was torn down, a double wide mobile home was placed on it and that Charolette Goodwin lived there and that she and her husband, Charles, who died, had bought it from the Shahans in 1976.  Found that deed and was able to find when it was eventually sold to the bank and not foreclosed on and finish taking the search back 50 years.

The point is while a lot of information is on-line and released into the world wide web, without local knowledge this particular search would have been completed beyond when the bank sold the property without days and days of searching.  Can't do that in India.
