Love it, agree, and dismayed at abstractors around me who are lowing prices to get the work.  Was told some searchers in Georgia are charging $100 for a 50-year title.  I can't compete with that, nor do I want to.  My product is detailed and examined.  If you are charging $15 for a doc retrieval or $80 for a full title, then you are PUTTING the rest of us out of business and devaluing your combined experience.  

Quality examiners will always be needed.  That said, if your work has declined in volume to the point of zero, then quit, go work for a law firm or do something else, reinvent yourself, and then come back to it if you wish.  Most of us are highly talented individuals with multiple skill sets.  If the industry tanks, I will go back into litigation.  This is not the end,  There is always something new to invent or become!!
