In some cases you could only look at the 1st or last page. There is supposed to be a feature allowing for that. But of course that comes with it's own risks. Encouraging us to look less rather than more is a risk that can result in an increase in claims and increase in E&O insurance. Keeping track of ho much the search cost in viewing fee is a hassle as well and to my knowledge there is no feature for that. If they really want to move ahead with the per page fee they ought to let us start a searching session and present us with a receipt once we end the session. We would have to pass on that receipt to our client.
