[-] Question on protocol regarding up-charges - Kym/NJ (9 replies)
8/10/2011 3:24:04 PM (3286 views)

A current owner search, out of family/to Warranty Deed (24mo min), is ordered and the abstractor finds it will require going back say 50 years (or many deeds) which would incur the client an up-charge.  Often the up-charge is sizeable if it's moving to a full search.

Independents - A: Do you keep going without a call to your client and then bill them for a full search or up-charge accordingly?  B: Do you call and advise of the circumstances and ask how they want to proceed?

Comments from anyone welcome, including other vendor managers or those deemed "clients."
