Hi, Joann!

I've had a lot of success with PaperPort by ScanSoft.  Steve Meineke, another frequent contributor to SOT, turned me onto this program a few years back, and it's very user-friendly.  It will convert just about any file format to .pdf, and has a "stacking" feature that you can use to merge files as well as separate into individual pages once they're converted.

Not sure what the current version is, but the last one I bought was around $100 or so.  You can find it online or at just about any office supply store.  Hope this helps.
