I fear that this particular issue will continue to be raised nationwide by groups of lawyers who are trying to corner yet another piece of the market for themselves.

The independent title agent seems truly to be the target in many of the cases involving the "unauthorized practice of law".  That said, though, I am hear to tell you that many many attorneys, despite their JD degree, have no practical knowledge about the title industry and they depend on those of us in the business who are willing to share our knowledge and information to "teach" them so that they can then run us out of business.
