We have had numerous clients request we meet or beat pricing. Saying they have searchers in our coverage area doing current owner searches for $25, including mortgage copies and deeds. They also informed us, that they get their update for free, and that additional owners are only $5 more. is there really people doing this out in our industry, or is this a push by the big title companies to try and kill us searchers. I pulled a group of their orders and we average $17 in copy fees per search, so these companies are making $8 a search after copies. Anyone else experience these type of things, Do we need to form a group to keep us searchers from being taken out of business? Let me know your thoughts and experience.
