I encourage each member of SOT to go to this link at Public Record Retrievers Network (PRRN) and read the Public Record Update Newsletter for September 2014. There are changes going on in the Maine Court Records Search Request procedures, and Mike Sankey of PRRN has nailed it.

First, if you conduct court records research in the Maine courts you are not going to like this.  No more walk-in search requests in Maine.

Second, We have been a member of PRRN since 1993. It is not expensive to join, it is up to date on court research nationwide, and it has brought us business and saved us many times. Like SOT, you are not a member of an organization like PRRN for 21 years if it isn't worth it.
