I'm trying to help a new vendor manager.  I will not put my own opinion here.  I need YOUR input about the how's and why's.

 Abstractor has a current owner search.  The first deed is a QC.  The second deed back is in the 1960's.  The second deed was easy to get.  

Is it ethically wrong to go to the client and ask for a 40 year fee?  Why or why not?
