I completed a search in February.  There were no copies requested at that time.  Last week on March 8th I received an email requesting me to "upload Mortgage #1" on the previously completed file.  I purchased a $16 mortgage and uploaded it to the Stewart site.  Then I emailed my vendor coordinator to request the copy fee be reimbursed.  She emailed me back stating that I was supposed to get the copy fee approved before submission.  I spent the better part of a day fighting with them on this and had to go to the supervisor to get anything other than a "you did it wrong" and "we will not approve the fee" response.  The supervisor reluctantly approved the fee.  I wish I would have requested a document retrieval fee on top of the $16 in copies.  This was infuriating to say the least.
