I wish I could say that I stayed out of determination or gumption or something. I stayed because I was naive and stupid, and I believed that I could somehow change the company. They let me believe that, because it meant I worked 80-hour weeks and took pay cuts. It took me a long, long time to accept that the owners of GDS were doing terrible things behind my back, because to my face, they had all the right answers.
I wish the answer made me look smarter than this. But this is the truth. I was dumb, and they tricked me, and they used me. I got out as soon as I could.
