Public record research firm of 27 years based in St. Louis is looking for a full time, employee title abstractor and record retriever to cover the Chicago area/Chicagoland territory. The firm's clientele include title companies, law firms, information brokers and mortgage service companies throughout the country.
This Abstractor would be based out of his/her home initially but would have the primary responsibilities of conducting onsite title searches, document retrievals, lien and judgment searches, and other public record retrieving tasks in the various counties in and around the northern Illinois area but primarily Cook County. THIS IS A MOBILE POSITION. Computer/Scanner/Cell phone/Internet access supplied.
Counties serviced would include but not be limited to Cook, Lake, Kankakee, Dupage, Kendall and Winnebago.
Primary responsibilities of this position would include:
* Title abstracting chain of title deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, plats, assessment, tax data, court documents and other public record information.
* Review and quality control of all abstracted information to verify it meets the standards of our company's and clients' requirements.
This would involve heavy onsite searching at the various counties as well as some online searching.
Other responsibilities would include some online searching, typing, data entry and submitting reports based on the search results, scanning, uploading, fax/e-mail transmitting, invoicing and otherwise completing the order transactions. Constant communication with our main St. Louis office is crucial. As the workload increases in this region, the potential of this individual's roles and responsibilities could morph into more of an Office Manager's position with an added commission based structure.
Requirements include:
* Prior title/ abstracting/mortgage experience strongly recommended
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Superior time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work with laptop, scanner and imaging technology
* Detail oriented, efficient and thorough researching ability
* Adequate computer skills and functionality
* Strong communication and work ethic
