I receive similar emails quite frequently. If I don't recognize the sender as a client, or if I'm not expecting it, I normally do not even open the attachment. It is surprising to me how much time is spent by those sending the fake email to make it look legitimate. I get a lot that say something like "We just received these documents. Can you please review them ASAP, we are closing first thing in the morning." I have even had some that purport to be from other law firms - firms that actually exist, but are in other states that I have no business with.
The scammers are getting much more tricky. It is important to be diligent.
