Flat Recording Fee Laws Progressing in Multiple States

At least four states are preparing to implement flat fees for recording deeds, mortgages and other real estate documents.  Flat recording fees will make estimating closing costs easier and help avoid exceeding tolerance limits on the Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure forms required by TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rules.
