Like so many companies nowadays, stuff that is requested by many companies is only that which you can't get online.  Then it becomes a current owner search - where problems like probate with multiple heirs or "problem properties."  I wish there was a way this could get better, but it undoubtedly will only get worse.  I can't imagine how many deaths/estates and judgments are missed nowadays in an effort to get a COS done entirely online.  Many, many counties don't include death certificates in their ROD records.  We are fortunate in that NC (counties like Buncombe, Gaston, Madison, etcetera,) do have records of marriages and deaths cross-indexed.
