Hi Abraham,

I got my title insurance license in 1997.  At the time, at least in Ohio, you were unable to get a license without an underwriter.  And, underwriters never appointed a new agent with no title insurance experience.  I'm not sure if that has changed, but I would be very surprised if an  underwriter would take on that liability.

The traditional route is to work for title company, get some experience, then get the license.

Best,

Robert A. Franco
