Garret, I love all of those ideas. We as abstractors need to hold the line and all charge accordingly for our work. Those of us in the biz for 20+ years have earned our stripes. I like the idea of charging triple digits for document retrievals. I read that above in another thread. However, we all have to be on the same page. Perhaps getting in touch with state reps or even congressional reps to put a stop to online searching from out of state would be a good idea. Some states/counties charge a fee to use their system. This seems to really lock out the offshore companies that are charging $5 for a current owner search.
