The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the
national trade association of the land title insurance industry, recently
announced the renewal of the National Title Professional (NTP) designation to
Shelley Stewart, CLC, President of Southern Title Holding Company, LLC.
Stewart earned the designation
because of her extensive title industry experience, her active involvement in
the state and national land title associations, and her real estate related
education and training.
“Shelley Stewart has continued to
demonstrate her commitment to the land title industry throughout her designation
term, and we are honored to have her as part of this elite group of designees,”
said Deborah L. Scott, Chair of the NTP Council. “Our industry currently faces
many challenges and its important to promote professionalism throughout.”
Stewart has taken an active role in
the real estate title insurance industry for more than 35 years. She served as
President of the Florida Land Title Association (FLTA) in 2008, 2nd
Associate VP of the Florida Home Builders Association in 2019, and has held
leadership positions in the Volusia Building Industry Association, the Florida
Association of Mortgage Brokers, Mortgage Bankers Association, Women’s Council
of Realtors, the Volusia-Flagler Title Association and the Daytona Beach Board
of Realtors. Most recently, Senator Kathleen Passidomo (R-28) selected Stewart
to chair a taskforce subgroup of stakeholders created to research the impact of
the state’s Public Records Redaction legislation.
The National Title Professional (NTP) designation recognizes land title
professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience, and dedication
essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property throughout the
United States. The designation has several elements, including industry
and compliance prerequisites and training requirements on a national level.
