Warren County, NY Begins e-Recording
press release

The Warren County Clerk’s office in New York implemented electronic recording (e-recording) of all real property documents this week with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.

With Simplifile’s e-recording service available, organizations such as title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers will be able to submit documents to the clerk’s office via the Internet and have them recorded and returned in minutes.

“On July 29, Warren County accepted its first e-recording through Simplifile,” said Warren County Clerk Pam Vogel. “The process was seamless and Simplifile reports provided excellent tracking of all documents and activity. I am confident that we will find e-recording to be not only user-friendly for customers and staff, but a most cost-effective way to carry out our recording duties as well.”

According to Vogel, the NYS Association of County Clerks recently surveyed its members for e-recording activity, and out of 43 responses, 15 were already e-recording and another 18 were due to begin e-recording this year or by early 2015.

“Truly, this is an exciting time in Warren County’s recording history,” Vogel added. “We are very pleased to offer this option to our customers – near and far.”

Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, reducing check-writing expenses, payment errors and other potential delays in the recording process.

High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Warren County and to see more and more counties across the nation embrace this recording technology,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It offers so many benefits, saving both the county and its customers time and money.”

Warren County joins more than 1,100 counties and recording offices nationwide that have also adopted Simplifile’s e-recording service to streamline and expedite document recording.

Simplifile will host an informational meeting on e-recording at Warren County in the near future. For more information about e-recording in Warren County, N.Y., call 800-460-5657 or visit simplifile.com.
