Lander County is now accepting electronic documents for recording through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing document submitters with a faster, more cost-effective recording method online.
"We wanted to become an office that is forward thinking. Simplifile allows us to do that," said Lander County Recorder Lesley Bunch. "Most of the other counties in the state are already working with Simplifile, and while I was campaigning it was one of my promises."
Using Simplifile’s web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks, and legal offices can electronically prepare or scan and upload documents and send them securely through Simplifile directly to the recorder’s office.
Once the documents are received electronically at the county, they are reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned back to the submitter through Simplifile in minutes.
"Working together with ADS and Simplifile made the transition very easy and worry free," Bunch added. "We have had many positive comments from everyone. At this point it was one of the best decisions we have made in Lander County."
Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors.
