ALTA Honors Texas Member with National Title Professional Recognition
press release, American Land Title Association

John C. Martin CAEP, CTIP, NTP has earned his National Title Professional(NTP) designation from theAmerican Land Title Association(ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry. Formally acknowledged with his NTP designation on Oct. 1, 2019, Martin is the 102nd leader from across the United States who has devoted his careers and himself to the land title industry.

The designation recognizes land title professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property.*

“The NTP designation is not an award; it is a recognition that only the most committed land title industry professionals are entitled to,” said ALTA President Mary O’Donnell. “ALTA members must go through a vigorous audit, demonstrating knowledge, experience and dedication to obtain the title. John’s overwhelming wealth of experience, ambition and entrepreneurial spirit make him an ideal candidate for the NTP designation. He certainly is deserving of the honor. I hope other land title insurance experts follow his lead and aim for this achievement.”

With more than 30 years of experience in the land title insurance industry, Martin is president and owner of Lone Star Title Company of El Paso Inc. in El Paso, Texas. A past president of the Texas Land Title Association (2018-2019) and the Independent Title Agents of Texas (2015-2017), he is a current board member of the Texas Title Insurance Guaranty Association. He also is a continuing education instructor for the Texas Real Estate Commission.

“My company has been involved in the development and construction of over 14,000 apartments in nine different states,” said Tom Bohannon, president and CEO of Bohannon Development Corp. in El Paso, Texas. “There is nobody better than John Martin in the title business. John is as fine a person as I have ever known and an important asset in our community.”

A full directory of National Title Professionals is available here.

The designation has several elements, including industry and compliance prerequisites and training requirements. To apply for the NTP designation and for more information, please visit ALTA's NTP website.

* Designation under the National Title Professional Program solely demonstrates that a land title professional has met the particular standards and criteria of the National Title Professional Program. Neither the American Land Title Association, nor the designation itself, guarantees or warrants anything beyond a designee’s ability to meet such standards or criteria. The American Land Title Association makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees as to, and assumes no responsibility for, the proper performance of land title services, including but not limited to the transfer of real property, or related services provided by designees.
