I have been and abstractor for about 15 years and, during normal times, I have noticed that work will drop off when interest rates go up, around all the holidays, during spring brake for the schools, and prior to school starting.  This seems to be a pretty regular schedule here in Jefferson County, KY.  The one thing that is a definite sign that work will slow down is the interest rate going up.
