There is nothing unusual about that request. They don't want to be responsible for your title reports so you will have to insure yourself. I have been doing this for years. Now, you just have to find a company that won't charge you $1500 or more per year. Good luck. We are all in that boat together.

Sounds like to me, if you want that job, you need to buy the insurance, just increase your pay to include the premium each month.
