US Title Corp. sent me a search out of nowhere in May.  I also did work for them in June, July & August, but have only been paid for one search in May & one in June.  I haven't received a check for anything else done in June through August.  I try to be patient with my customers & give them the benefit of the doubt, but I NEED my money!  I fax an invoice with every search, but also send a monthly invoice.  I'm going to re-fax & e-mail my invoices AGAIN & see if I get a response. 

I'm not sure how to go about filing a suit, but I'd file it in my own county & I think they can also file it in the county of the company that owes you.   OR call Knoxville & see how to go about filing there. 

Just to let you know what a nitwit I am, I have 2 companies that owe me for work done in September of 2008.  One pays me a little at a time.  The other one only owes me $145.00, but they won't respond to my e-mails, faxes or calls.  THAT makes me ANGRY!  It amazes me that the companies that owe you money actually have the audacity to complain if you're ever a few minutes late in getting their work back to them due to a problem.  What nerve!!!   Good luck to both of us in collecting what we've EARNED.
