They owed me approximately $2,000.00 (and someone else that I know almost $10,000). Through word of mouth, I was informed that they owed over $900,000.00 in unpaid examiner bills - yet one of the owners lives in my neighborhood and has a very large house. I was also informed of many other luxuries and perks that the owners of this company had accrued throughout the course of their business ventures. Now I don't know about you, but this is extremely similar to ongoing situations in the economic world of late - corporate execs living large , using fraud and greed as their primary segway.
To make matters worse.... I too, sued this company. I obtained a small claims judgment against them and filed it with the County Clerks office of Suffolk County. After numerous court filings and fees, I was easily up to an additional $200.00 in debt. They closed their Smithtown office, so the judgment information had to be amended to reflect their Buffalo address - which required additional petitions to the court and additional filings - and of course it was more money to send the Sheriff out to attempt to collect. People think that when you go to court and get a judgment that you've accomplished a gain - when in actuality , it is nothing more than a piece of paper until (and/or if)you are able to collect. So, basically what it had boiled down to was that this company folded - out of business, and according to the District Court , there is nothing that I can do to collect the money that I am owed; because you cannot go after personal assets of Incorporated Entity Affiliates. Now I am guessing that I am one of MANY who this has happened to, and these guys just get to walk away Scott Free?? The situation , as a whole, pertaining to myself and to everyone else who this has occured, is devoid of any justice whatsoever. Criminal acts have taken place here, and the ones who have benefitted from them are sipping martinis on their yachts.
