As we have all said in the past, more of these non-paying companies need to be held accountable and out of the "pool" for distributed work. Contacting BBB, D&B and sharing payment experience with other professionals in our business when companies do not pay is one way to get the ball rolling. No longer accepting orders from them will only put a band-aid on the situation and not stop them in their tracks. They will just continue to move on to the next abstractor in need of work who is not privi to the companies record. Thank goodness for SOT!
