No.  Purchase transactions are statutorily 60 years in VA, but more and more purchases are using 40-year searches. 

On a related subject, we were asked to do a 20-year search.  The current owner had owned for 2-years, then it jumped back almost 60-years.  Our client said to just start the search from 20-years back.  We said we would have to disclaim and ended up not doing the search.  We just were not comfortable with it.
