Hello Robert , What happens is when the county takes checks for more then the amount of the checks and refunds the difference, more and more people take advantage of this ( they pay for 10 dollars of copies with 100 dollar checks made out to the county) for an additional write off - Or they have their client's send checks made out to the county that include actual cost and their service charge so they don't report it as income. The more people that do this the more bounced checks. Anyway thats what happened in my county and they stopped taking checks along time ago for amounts more then the actual costs.
ps: On another note -----I think copies made in "county office's" should not be more then what the public library charges for copies.
