I suppose that is one opinion. However, it does seem odd that if Great Britain's system is so poor...the vast majority of its citizens opt for it rather than private health care coverage.
How would you handle catastrophic medical expenses. I recently spoke to somone whose husband has terminal lung cancer. She said his chemotherapy expenses run $20,000 to $30,000 per month. I had a conversation with an insurance agent last month who indicated that while health savings accounts work well from a tax standpoint...there is a problem with coverage of extremely high expenses.
