...of pointy-headed government bureaucrats (on BOTH sides of the aisle, BTW) who try to feed me crap and tell me it's ice cream. Every time the price of crude goes up, a bunch of suits from the oil industry gets hauled before a Senate panel to answer a series of pointless questions all designed to try to convince the American electorate that its government is doing something about high fuel prices. No evidence of price-gouging has been found in at least three previous Senate investigations. Meanwhile, this same government body is proposing higher taxes on fuel in order to "force conservation" while candidates for the highest office in the land are promising to raise taxes on the oil companies (which will then be passed on to the consumer). Sort of makes you wonder how stupid they think we are.
