Good morning Steve , When we were busy there would be alot more then 130 examiners searching records at our clerks office. Now many of the day's it looks like a ghost town and this is due to the fact that is slow ( remember my county has gone off line) . So that would explain why fairfax is so empty and not because everyone is seaching from home. I bet if and when things pick-up your county will be flooded with examiners.
The fact that fairfax still has there old record system available seems to tell me there is a reason for concern on depending on their on-line system. It is like that game "telephone", the county takes records that are not error free and put's them on a new system and new errors are combined with old errors. Then the county transfers what they have on the new system to the internet and more errors arise. I know if you look at at imaged doc it is the same as the imaged doc at the clerks office , but how you find the doc's is the problem.
In my county if one comes across a mistake ( such as part of the computer program is not working properly) the word spreads around and we play it safe and re-run what ever program that did not funtion properly. If i was on-line i may not know of the problem.
But if there comes a day when you go into the clerks and all you have access to is there computer(no other records in the building that can be searched) and there computer is on the internet just like what you have at home,Only then would I feel comfortable with searching on-line from home.
