Your posts are always very impressive Kevin and your points are definitly appropriate, educated and appreciated.  'Hope for the best and plan for the worst!'  I would humbly suggest, however, that sometimes folks just need a little commiseration and a pat on the back. 

Speaking for myself - I know I should unleash the lawyers (no offense!) on the deadbeat clients that owes me over a grand.  I have their home address and I could make their life a living hell and maybe even break even financially in the long run.  And I know that I should believe that by doing so I will help to slowly change our industry and show the other deadbeats that they can't get away with it.  And sometimes I do just that and I embrace my rightful indignation and applaud myself for doing the right thing.

And sometimes I sigh deeply and shake my head and wonder how people can be so nasty to each other, all in an effort to make a buck.  I think back on the conversations I had with those people that screwed me about their family and mine and the weird industry that we work in.  And sometimes I just write off the loss and try to have enough faith to take on yet another new client that might stab me in the back tomorrow regardless of how much I 'plan for the worst.'
