Wendi,
What an excellent suggestion! I have been thinking about the very same thing for some time now. Bringing NALTEA "closer to home" just may encourage more abstractors to get involved.
Here in the Northeast, although we don't have the "warm climate", we do offer two of the most exciting cities in the US - NYC and Boston. Not to mention my home state of CT which offers 2 world-class Casinos/Conference Centers. And who knows? Maybe if we could convince our favorite CT Counselor to make an appearance, NALTEA members could get a chance to meet the infamous "Atty. Kevin", which I'm sure would be a treat for all! lol
If we're all in agreement that Abstractor training is essential for the future of the industry, regionalized "educational sessions" would go a long way toward achieving our goals. The groundwork has been set by the Education Committee, let's see where we can take it from here. I will be very interested to hear about how the whole testing process works out in LA.
I hope that everyone involved comes away with comments and suggestions on how it went and how it could be improved. As always, if you have a complaint, please be prepared to offer a possible solution. It is much more helpful for all involved.
Fondly,
Lori
