I'm sorry that this post has not generated more serious discussion on the issue.  The securitization of mortgages is a very complicated issue, but is seems apparent from the comments that there just isn't a lot of interest in understanding it. 

It amazes me that abstractors, in general, don't seem to care enough about the industry to want to learn more about what makes it tick.
