You are right, so let's fight to change things.  Abstractors, like appraisers are professionals who actually pull the facts together to create a conveyance.  The product has worth and unless you place value on your product and are willing to fight for it, forget it.  You'll be replaced by computer crap.

Regulators and Wall Street are listening very intently now and trying to figure out how all of this works.  The time is now.  Go for it.  Hit the blogosphere en masse.
