I agree Diane. I thought all states had some equivalent to small claims court. I can't imagine having a client owe me enough money that I couldn't handle it myself by filing in small claims. No offense to Kevin because I, like Robert, aspire to be him one day, I just don't see needing an attorney for collection issues. I for one do not intend to stand back and be trampled by nonpayers. Kevin and I have even discussed the feasibilty of a class action fraud-type suit against those VMs that we can prove are purposely stiffing the abstractor and moving one to someone else or closing up shop and opening under another name. It doesn't at this time appear worth the hassle, but it would have felt good.
