HI - I have a concern as to the validity of this certification in each state. Since most states' DO NOT have a licensing or certificate requirement to be a title searcher/abstractor.
I had a 6 week course and training with an attorney/abstracting firm in New Haven, CT and received a certificate for that. - So what about abstractors that already did take a course in their state and have been working as an abstractor for many years?
What if the state you are in doesn't require you to be licensed or certified to be an abstractor? - Isn't this a way for you to make a lot of money off abstractors who don't have these requirements in their state(s)???
Why isn't Naltea trying to do something on the legistlature side and get things passed so we become a paid item on the RESPA or that we are a TRUELY a licensed group in each state first?
AND FOREMOST - How about saving our abstract work from going overseas? That's why most of us are out of a job in the first place, not so much the mortgage glich, though it hasn't helped any except for the big corporation and other companies to keep lowering our fees, to owe us monies and then go out of business. Beside teh fact that WE are all still required to carry E&O insurance, but the folks overseas DO NOT. And yet we still get sued at a drop of a hat, yet the people overseas suffer no consequence.
Do you really think that your certificate will prevent all that??? I think you have found another way to make alot of money off title abstractors who are already paying the price for being in a dying business.
