Same thing happened to me last month with an attorney I have been working for for years. My check doesn't come directly from their office anymore, but from a Accounts Payable firm somewhere is Atlanta. I got paid 2x within a few days of each other. I tried to call the firm in Atlanta, but ended up not being able to talk to a human...so I forwarded the check back to the law firm. They have a new bookeeper since I have moved back and she left me 3 or 4 messages about my error and that she had no record of me being paid before and had kind of a attitude about it.(Why are folks in the Accounts Payable dept always like that everywhere?) Anyway, finally, I spoke with her directly and after she again checked, she said I was right and that there must have been a glinch in the system. She also had a different tone in here voice then and thanked me for being honest. Well, it is not my money and I would hope if my system had a glinch in it, someone would return money to me that I made an error in figuring.
Glad things worked out for you, David.
