There may be another way to solve the problem of collections!

I am relatively new to the field of title abstracting, but not to dealing with these kinds of issues.

A question for all.  Has anyone thought about requesting payment up front for your title search work?

I am an appraiser as well and for all but a hand full of well established clients, I require payment up front for all appraisals, after losing thousands last year to companies that simply decided that they didn't want to pay, or went belly up.

My business has thrived this year and I now do not work for free for anyone!

Just something to think about and discuss further to see if it is even a viable solution.
