Well... I would say that they really can't be "private" in the sense that for you to receive anything on the Internet, you have to provide your IP address along with your request so that the other end knows where to send the information. For example, if you visit our Web site, you are requesting our servers to send you back the content on our Web pages. The request your browser sends out MUST include your IP address so that our server can send it to you.
