Wow, thank you, Wendi! I can't tell you how much better I feel after reading your post. You obviously learn from your experiences, making navigation smoother. And double thanks for the pointers in management. Your right about treating it as a business from the get-go and not lowering fees. If I take it seriously and respect myself and the work, hopefully I'll attract good clients.
There's one thing that I need to know before I hit the pillow, I haven't slept in almost 36 hours, which is this: How? I'm afraid my time machine is in the shop, and without taking the real transfer class, I will be depriving myself of any courthouse research time whatsoever. This is the $1,000,000 question; how do I get the experience before I get the experience? Clients will want at least six months, plus insurance. And insurance companies prefer I have three years behind me. The only thing I can think to do is offer my services for free for six months, which would mean devaluing myself, and attracting sledgehammer clients, who think it's perfectly acceptable to deceive the newbie. If you have a feasible way around this, I would honestly love to hear it. Time for bed. Take care,
Melissa
