It probably depends upon whether or not you are in an attorney required state. As I understand Maryland's law you need to have a title producer's license in order to close deals. That probably will not change. Unless I am mistaken, the action taken this week was to alleviate the credit crisis, assist in making credit avaiable for mortgages and prevent further decline of the housing market. The signing agents and abstractors will still be working under the same rules.
